In October 2006 we spent a week in the Masai Mara on a photography trip with Jonathan Scott. This was our first venture to Africa and our first 'photographers' trip. Jonathan was a great inspiration and very helpful with techniques and showing different ways of capturing animal portraits. We met some wonderful people on this trip, many of whom we've kept in touch with and hope to travel with again.
We stayed at Kicheche Mara camp which was about 1hr's drive outside the Masai Mara NP. The camp staff were wonderful and all the drivers were very knowledgeable. The food was of a high standard too.
On this trip the days were very long. We were up at 5.30 and out of the camp by 6am until at least 7-7.30pm most evenings. We then had 30mins to grab a quick bucket shower and get to dinner. By 10.30pm everyone was in bed, exhausted from the day.
